Procedure Details
For Resection: Under general or awake anesthesia, a craniotomy is performed to access the brain. For VNS Implant: A daycare outpatient procedure where a small pacemaker-like device is implanted under the skin of the left chest. A wire is threaded under the skin to the neck and wrapped around the left vagus nerve.
